About Us
The Charlotte Area Health Education Center, a part of the NC AHEC Program, strives to fulfill its mission of providing quality educational opportunities for all healthcare professionals by building partnerships, promoting recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals, and advancing healthcare in the communities we serve. We provide our services to healthcare professionals of the following counties: Anson, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Stanly, and Union.
Currently at the Charlotte AHEC, we are working to increase and enhance all of our services by:
- Focusing on interdisciplinary education.
- Expanding Diversity & Language programming.
- Developing management and leadership workshops.
- Increasing the numbers of RN Refresher students.
- Creating Nursing Management modules on the web at AHEConnect.
- Improving our Class Schedule utility and Online Registration process.
- Increasing awareness of the AHEC Digital Library.
- Looking for opportunities to develop educational activities in new sites in each of our eight counties.
