Onetime Activities
Are you interested in planning an activity?
Please contact Charlotte AHEC's Continuing Medical Education (CME) team at least 4 months in advance for either a directly sponsored or jointly sponsored activity. Please note the ACCME standards are rigorous regarding academic need and measurable outcomes. A submitted application does not guarantee credit. All activities must demonstrate an impact on physician competence, physician performance, and/or patient outcomes. CME will guide you through the application and planning process to ensure that ACCME expectations are met and to see if your proposed activity qualifies for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Services Provided Under Direct Sponsorship - If the organization planning the event is a Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS) entity, such as CMC Pediatrics, the event is considered Directly Sponsored, i.e. Carolinas HealthCare System is CME accredited provider. Services include:
- Activity planning assistance
- Certify that the activity meets the educational requirements of the ACCME and CME
- Provide AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ certificates
- Onsite assistance
Services Provided Under Joint Sponsorship - If the organization planning the event is not a Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS) entity, such as the Mecklenburg County Medical Society (MCMS), the event is considered Jointly Sponsored, i.e. Carolinas HealthCare System is CME accredited provider and MCMS is the non-accredited provider. Services include:
- Activity planning assistance
- Certify that the activity meets the educational requirements of the ACCME and CME
- Event/meeting planning services
- Provide AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ certificates
- Onsite assistance
