Accreditation Statement (CME)
Carolinas HealthCare System is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide Continuing Medical Education (CME) for physicians.
Academy of General Dentistry (AGD)
Charlotte AHEC is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing dental education programs of this program provider are accepted by AGD for Fellowship/Mastership and membership maintenance credit. Approval does not imply acceptance by a state or provincial board of dentistry or AGD endorsement.
North Carolina Academy of Dental Hygiene
These courses have met the criteria of the Dental Hygiene Academy of Advanced Studies continuing education credits.
Dental Assisting National Board (DANB)
Application has been made for Dental Assisting National Board credit. "DANB Approval" indicates that a continuing education course appears to meet certain specifications as described in the DANB Recertification Guidelines. DANB does not, however, endorse or recommend any particular continuing education course and is not responsible for the quality of any course content.
North Carolina License Renewal for Dentists & Dental Hygienists
Clinical patient care courses offered at Charlotte AHEC are acceptable for North Carolina License Renewal.
Leadership Continuing Education Credit
The Charlotte AHEC is authorized to award pre-approved Category II American College of Healthcare Executives continuing education credit for leadership development courses. (Link for American College of Healthcare Executives is www.ache.org.)
Mental Health Continuing Education Credit
The Charlotte AHEC is an approved provider of the National Board for Certified Counselors and abides by the NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines (Provider #5096). Charlotte AHEC is an approved provider by the North Carolina Psychology Board and designates Contact Hours (category A) for NC Psychologists.
Application may be made to the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Certification Board for either General Skill Building (GSB) Credit or Substance Abuse Specific (SS) Credit. No partial credit will be awarded.
Nursing Continuing Education Credit
Charlotte AHEC is an approved provider of Continuing Nursing Education Contact Hours by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. No partial credit will be awarded.
Pharmacy Continuing Education Credit
The School of Pharmacy of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
